Streaming music giant Spotify upgrades developers to Apple M1 Mac
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens for the clues of tomato fried tomato delivery! CTOnews.com, Nov. 2 (Xinhua)-- streaming music giant Spotify recently upgraded its Client Platform (CLiP) team to Apple M1 Mac, according to The New Stack.
Previous internal tests by Spotify have shown that these devices are built 43 per cent faster than Intel-based Mac systems as a whole. Among them, the Android version is 50% faster than the iOS version.
CTOnews.com learned that the above survey also shows that longer build times can reduce developer productivity and satisfaction. Spotify conducted several build tests on different hardware and found that the overall build time on machines using Apple chips (M1 or higher chips) was 43% faster than M1 Pro and M1 Max.

In addition, Spotify product manager Anna Granhed and Spotify senior data scientist Nandini Singh recently explained that before the upgrade is approved, two questions need to be fully answered, including whether the new device is "good enough" and whether it is suitable for Spotify developers. In this case, good enough is defined as a significant improvement in Android/ iOS native build time.
