Tony Fadell, the father of Apple's iPod, joined the Arm board during the transition of Apple Silicon.

After selling the company he founded to Google, Fadell is now on the board of semiconductor company Arm.
According to CNET, Tony Fadell officially joined Arm's board on Thursday to help the company improve its processor design as Arm expands its technology to more areas than just smartphones.
In fact, Tony Fadell's history in Arm dates back to this new role long before, for example, he strongly promoted the use of Arm chips in iPod and iPhone. Later, Apple found that the Arm architecture is really good, so it is now used in the latest processors such as M1 and M2.
The first reason Fadell prefers Arm to other designs is that it focuses more on low power consumption. He believes that performance should not be at the expense of poor battery life. Fadell says that now that power consumption is also the main constraint for PC and servers, it is even more important for Arm to focus on low power consumption.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the executive said he hoped to bring "more systematic mindset" to Arm when thinking about "end consumers."
Arm CEO Rene Haas invited Fadell to work with Arm, who introduced Fadell as a new member of the board at the 2022 Internet Summit in Lisbon, which also invited two Apple executives as speakers.
It is not clear what Tony Fadell will do at Arm, but it is believed that he will serve as a link between Apple and Arm.
