CTOnews.com, November 8 (Xinhua)-- Zixiwu Tunnel, the first tunnel of Jinjian Railway, has been successfully completed recently, marking a breakthrough in the construction of the railway, according to the Yangtze River Delta Railway.

CTOnews.com learned that there are 22 main line tunnels of Jinjian Railway, with a total length of about 21.5km, of which 14 double-lane tunnels are about 20.3km, while eight single-line tunnels account for about 32.3 per cent of the total length of the line.

Zixiwu No. 1 tunnel is a single-lane tunnel with a total length of 115.9 meters. The tunnel passes through the denudation slow hill, the terrain is undulating, the mountain is mostly covered by Quaternary soil layer, and the vegetation is luxuriant; the whole tunnel is Ⅴ class surrounding rock, which is constructed by circular excavation and reserved core soil method.

Located in the southwest of Zhejiang Province, Jinjian Railway, with a total length of 64.51 kilometers, is a double-track railway with a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour. The line leads from the existing Jinhua Station, to the north through Lanxi City and Jiande City, and connects to the Hangzhou-Yellow High-speed Railway at Jiande Station. Jinhua, Lanxi East, Dayang and Jiande stations are set up along the line, of which Lanxi East Station and Dayang Station are new stations.
