Apple App Store deleted 540000 App in the third quarter, and the total number of store apps hit a seven-year low.

According to Finbold, the decline in the number of apps on App Store has hit a seven-year low. In the third quarter of 2022, the total number of applications on the platform was 1642759. In the second quarter of 2022, the total was 2184456. The last time the number of apps was so low was in the third quarter of 2015, at 1672271.

This shows that the number of App Store applications fell by 24.79% in the third quarter from the previous quarter, with 541697 applications dropping out of App Store in that quarter alone.

Google Play App Store, currently the store with the largest number of apps, has a total number of 3Magi 553 Play App Store ranked second, Amazon App Store ranked third, with 483328 apps.

CTOnews.com learned that removing apps from App Store is Apple's annual practice in order to maintain the quality of its app market.
