CTOnews.com, Nov. 12 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft's Asobo Studio today launched a "40th Anniversary Update" for Microsoft Flight Simulation to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the birth of this ancient series of flight simulators. As previously predicted, the update introduces helicopters, gliders, Airbus Amure 310 and some classic aircraft for players to fly.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft Flight Simulation has become one of the oldest game series since it was first launched in 1982. The 40th Anniversary Update is free of charge and can be played by Xbox game pass members.

The 40th anniversary update will provide 12 aircraft, 12 helicopter airports, 12 glider airports, 6 classic commercial airports and 20 new missions. The biggest feature of this edition is the addition of two types of helicopters and gliders, as well as several aircraft with a legendary history, including Wright aircraft, St. Louis Spirit, Curtis JN-4, Douglas DC-3, Airbus A310 and so on.

Some famous historic airplanes will also be added to the game, including the 1947 Hughes Hmur4 Hercules (also known as spruce goose), which is the largest seaplane and wooden plane in history. In addition, the St. Louis Spirit aircraft piloted by Charles Lindbergh on his first solo uninterrupted transatlantic flight in May 1927 will also appear.
