CTOnews.com November 13 news, recently, Apple iOS 16.1.1 and iOS 16.2 Beta 2 beta versions for the national bank iPhone model AirDrop (air delivery) added a new "open to everyone for 10 minutes" option, limiting the time iPhone users can wirelessly receive stranger files.

Apple AirDrop usually has three options, including "Turn off reception,""Contacts only," and "Everyone." When you select the Everyone option, any other iPhone user nearby can try to send you a file via AirDrop, and a window pops up on the screen to accept or reject the file transfer without a time limit. CTOnews.com has learned that in China Apple has replaced the "All" option with "Open to All for 10 Minutes," which has a 10-minute limit. After that time, AirDrop automatically switches to the Contacts Only setting.

Apple has told Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman that the company plans to roll out new AirDrop settings globally over the next year to reduce unnecessary file sharing. Since the feature launched in 2011, some iPhone users have received inappropriate photos or been pranked by strangers via AirDrop, especially in crowded places such as malls and airplanes.

It's unclear when exactly this setting will be available in other countries, or whether Apple will allow users to customize time limits in the future.
