According to reports on the morning of November 15, Beijing time, Singapore e-commerce company Sea Ltd has laid off more than 7000 employees in the past six months, accounting for 10% of the company's total employees, according to people familiar with the matter.

Sea is the most valuable Internet company in Southeast Asia. In response to a possible economic downturn, many companies are restructuring and Sea has been hit. In August, Sea Ltd withdrew its annual e-commerce revenue forecast.

In September, it was reported that Sea was preparing to lay off 3% of its employees at Shopee, an Indonesian e-commerce subsidiary, as part of larger layoffs in the region, mainly in an attempt to rein in losses.

In addition, it has been reported that Shopee will withdraw from Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, and the Garena gaming division will cut hundreds of jobs in Shanghai.
