According to Google, when the function changes the background image in the new tab, it can set the theme color according to the color of the background image. After changing the background image of the new tab, the browser will automatically adjust the color scheme of the address bar and interface. Previously, users could manually change the color scheme of their Chrome browsers to the scheme of their choice, but the new feature simplifies the process. The feature is currently available on Mac, Windows and Linux, as well as on Google's own ChromeOS and Fuchsia operating systems.

This is an Android-like Material You feature that adjusts the operating system's color scheme based on what is detected in the user's home screen wallpaper. It made its debut in Android 12 last year and was upgraded in this year's Android 13 update.
