CTOnews.com, Nov. 16 (Xinhua)-- Google announced in September that it officially shut down Stadia, a cloud gaming platform, and promised that hardware purchased through Google Store or Stadia Store would be refundable. The Google Stadia cloud game service platform was launched in 2019 and officially announced that it will be officially closed on January 18, 2023.

Google launched the refund process on November 9, but it is worth noting that the refund was limited to the US market at that time. Citing feedback from foreign technology media NeoWin and social media, Google has launched refund programs in the UK, Canada and some European countries, and some users have received refund emails from Google.

CTOnews.com learned that Google's refund program will be launched in more countries and regions. As Google mentioned earlier, the refund includes only the purchase of hardware, such as Stadia controllers and Play and Watch with Google TV packages, or other downloadable content (DLC) purchased through Stadia Store. It does not include the monthly fee for Stadia's advanced subscription service, Stadia Pro.

If users buy a Ubisoft game, they can transfer it to the device via Ubisoft Connect, but it is not clear whether the previous game schedule will be retained.
