CTOnews.com, Nov. 16 (Xinhua)-- families suffering from "poor broadband" connections result in an economic loss of about 1000 pounds (8360 yuan) per worker, or a total of 60 billion pounds (501.6 billion yuan) a year, according to a new report released by Actual Experience, a company that operates hybrid workplace management systems.

In a brief summary of the Daily Telegraph, Savanta ComRes surveyed UK employees who often work from home and found that 89 per cent of respondents had experienced IT problems, of which 27 per cent thought they were "very" or "quite" frequent.

The main examples cited in the survey include data delays, mainly urban traders dealing with fast-moving assets, but also wasted time during training, downloading important files, interrupted video calls, and so on.

However, given that most companies use virtual private networks to allow remote access to corporate assets, it is unclear whether these problems can be directly attributed to users' home network connections.

Larger companies, such as Apple and, more recently, Twitter, have been announcing plans to bring employees back to the office full-time, which has disappointed employees. However, some companies continue to promote mixed jobs as a benefit in their job postings.
