Will Smith's new film "liberating slaves" will be released soon Apple Apple TV+, official notice has been released
CTOnews.com, Nov. 17 (Xinhua)-- Apple TV+ today released an official trailer for "Liberation of slaves" (Emancipation). The film, starring Will Smith, is expected to compete for many Oscars this year.
Although will Smith was controversial about the slapping incident, Apple clearly recognized Smith's acting and influence, thinking that the film would be liked by the audience and eventually chose not to postpone the release date.
CTOnews.com learned that the film is based on a true story about the protagonist Peter escaping from slave owners, enduring the chase of cold-blooded hunters and the dangerous swamps of Louisiana all the way north. After fleeing to the Union Army, Peter revealed the scars behind him when he was whipped by the overseer in the plantation.
The scene was photographed as the famous photo "the scourged back", published in "Independent" in May 1863 and "Harper's Weekly" on July 4 of that year. The photo became one of the evidence of the brutality of slavery in the United States.
Will Smith plays Peter in a film about his escape from captivity, which is directed by Antoine Antoine Fuqua and will be released on Apple TV+ on December 9.
