CTOnews.com, Nov. 17, China Central Radio and Television issued a statement on copyright protection for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Six companies, including China Mobile Migu and Douyin, are licensed, according to the statement.

China Central Radio and Television has exclusive copyright and sub-licensing rights for television and new media in the people's Republic of China (except the Hong Kong Special Administrative region, Macao Special Administrative region and Taiwan) for the Qatar World Cup, the statement said. As of the date of release of this statement, except for China Mobile Migu, Douyin, Shanghai five-Star Sports Channel, Guangdong Sports Channel, Guangzhou South Metropolis Channel and Guangzhou Competition Channel, no other organization is authorized to broadcast Qatar World Cup events. Except for the above-mentioned authorized institutions, no organization or individual may, without the formal authorization of the general manager's office, relay through television, radio, Internet, mobile communication network, IPTV, Internet television, mobile media television, all kinds of application software and any other audio and video broadcasting technology or platform in the Chinese mainland area. Use the audio and video content of the Qatar World Cup, radio and television signals or any related audio-visual material by any means such as live broadcast, delayed broadcast, on-demand, rotation, back-watching, download or theater broadcast, public broadcast, etc.
