Apple watchOS 9 update brings real power saving mode to Apple Watch
CTOnews.com, November 18 (Xinhua)-- Apple has brought a real power-saving mode to the Apple Watch in its watchOS 9 system, which users can enable in the setting screen or control center.
Like iPhone, Apple Watch automatically alerts users when the battery is less than 10% by default, allowing them to choose whether to enter power-saving mode.
Apple explained: "when your Apple Watch battery drops to 10%, you will be asked if you want to enable the power-saving mode. When the Apple Watch is charged to 80%, the power-saving mode will be turned off automatically."
After the Apple Watch enters power-saving mode, more power-consuming functions on the Apple Watch are automatically turned off, such as breath screen display (Always-On Display), arrhythmia, heart rate notification of high and low heart rate, heart rate and blood oxygen measurement, and exercise reminders.
CTOnews.com learned that in power-saving mode, if Apple Watch detects that there is no bound iPhone nearby, it will also automatically turn off Wi-Fi and cellular network data connections, incoming calls, and application notification.
"when Apple Watch enters power-saving mode and there is no iPhone nearby, you can open an app to request a data connection, and the Wi-Fi and cellular network will automatically turn on," Apple said. Of course, this consumes a lot of power, and missed calls and notifications are received every hour in power-saving mode.
In addition to turning off the above functions, Apple Watch will optimize other functions after entering power-saving mode to further reduce power consumption, such as reducing the refresh frequency of Siri and applications in the background, and so on.
In addition, after Apple Watch enters power-saving mode, animation and scrolling may no longer be smooth.
