LG New Energy and Samsung SDI further announce the list of 4680 battery suppliers

CTOnews.com, Nov. 20, according to ETNews,LG New Energy and Samsung SDI, have further disclosed the list of suppliers for the mass production of 4680 batteries.

According to reports, LG New Energy has selected companies such as LT Precision and Dongwon Systems as component suppliers for its 4680 next-generation cylindrical batteries, which will provide cylindrical cans for 4680 batteries and cylindrical safety components.

Samsung SDI's partners include Shinheung SEC and Sangsin EDP to provide shell and safety components for the next generation of cylindrical batteries.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung SDI is developing a battery with a diameter of 46 inches. It is said that its height will be about 80 years. Although the performance of the 4680 battery is better than the existing 2170 battery, they intend to use the new components to bring higher fire risk prevention and control capabilities.

According to reports, in addition to developing cylindrical battery parts, they are also preparing to make new investments in overseas cylindrical battery parts.
