CTOnews.com August 12, Sonos announced its third-quarter results this week, during which time almost confirmed that the Sub Mini subwoofer will not go on sale as planned.

The Verge leaked the Sub Mini in May, a small cylindrical subwoofer that is expected to be more affordable than the current $749 Sonos Sub. Sub Mini will be wirelessly paired with the company's existing family of soundbar speakers, including Ray, second-generation Beam and Arc.

Sub Mini appeared on FCC in June, a harbinger of an upcoming listing. Now, however, it looks as if Sub Mini has been postponed to the first quarter of 2023.

A spokesman for Sonos confirmed the news in an email, saying: "I can confirm our decision to postpone the expected product release from the fourth quarter of 22 to the first quarter of 23." The Sub Mini subwoofer is expected to be released between October and December.

Sonos reported lower-than-expected revenue in its third-quarter earnings report, citing high inflation and a stronger dollar as factors adversely affecting consumer demand in its electronics category. Sonos said it held more inventory than expected and was facing a "challenging fourth quarter".
