Steam Deck won the Golden Rocker Award for best hardware, and G Pang delivered his acceptance speech.

CTOnews.com, November 24, yesterday, the list of winners of the 40th Golden Rocker Awards was announced. In terms of software, Alden Ring won four major awards, including Game of the year, while Valve's Steam Deck won the best hardware award. Valve founder Gabe Newell (often referred to by players as "G Fat") delivered his acceptance speech, saying he was honored by the award and thanked the Steam Deck community.

G Fat said: "on behalf of everyone at Valve, I would like to thank you for awarding Steam Deck the Golden Rocker Award for best gaming hardware. On my own PC, the components come from different manufacturers, including AMD's CPU, Nvidia graphics cards, pirate ship mice, Logitech keyboards and Samsung monitors. It is this interoperability, compatibility and openness that really make products like Steam Deck."

G went on to mention the acceptance speech of final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida at last year's Golden Rocker Awards, saying: "I listened to Naoki Yoshida's Golden Rocker acceptance speech last year and was shocked by his emphasis on the gaming community. I would like to echo him. If we did not have the gaming community behind us to promote the development of the whole industry, products like Steam Deck would not have appeared.
