SA:2022 Q3 Lenovo-Motorola global smartphone shipments fell 15% year-on-year, wholesale revenue increased 4% year-on-year
CTOnews.com, Nov. 24, Strategy Analytics reported that global smartphone shipments of Q3 Lenovo-Motorola-fell 15% in 2022 compared with the same period last year. However, wholesale revenue rose 4% year-on-year, and the double-digit wholesale ASP growth rate hit an all-time high; the company managed to remain profitable for eight consecutive quarters; the United States continues to dominate the market, but the Asia-Pacific region and Western Europe are catching up.
Lenovo Motorola posted its highest-ever wholesale revenue in the third quarter of 2022, mainly due to the launch of G-series and Edge-series models. Although shipments fell 15 per cent year-on-year, wholesale revenue rose 4 per cent year-on-year, driven by an increase in average selling prices.
CTOnews.com has learned that the Americas (North America, Central America and Latin America) are still sweet for Lenovo-Motorola, but Western Europe and the Asia-Pacific region (mainly India) are catching up.
