CTOnews.com November 25 news, Microsoft after discovering a game performance failure, restricted some devices to upgrade to Win11 Version 22H2. However, in an update released earlier this week, Microsoft said it had lifted the upgrade restrictions and that most affected devices could be upgraded to the latest Win11 version smoothly.

Microsoft said: "We have updated safeguards with safeguards ID 41990091. There are still a few games and apps affected by this issue, and they still restrict upgrades. But if your device is no longer in range, you will get a new Win11 push in the next 48 hours. Rebooting your device and checking for updates may help detect new updates."

CTOnews.com understands that Microsoft said it had previously blocked upgrades to these devices because certain games and apps on Win11 22H2 used GPU performance debugging, which caused certain game failures.

Microsoft said: "If you have upgraded to Win11 22H2 and are experiencing this issue, you may be able to fix this issue by updating your games and game-related apps to the latest version available. If you are unsure how to update your installed games and apps, contact the developer. But most update automatically through the stores they buy, or directly when they open them."
