BOE: LTPO / LTPS technology can meet the demand of mainstream consumer VR equipment in the next 5-10 years
CTOnews.com November 25 news, in the conference call held this week, BOE talked about the development direction of VR real products, saying that VR products are an important access port for meta-universe, VR panel technology needs to achieve ultra-high PPI, there are currently three technologies, including LTPS (low temperature polysilicon), LTPO (low temperature polycrystalline oxide), Micro OLED (silicon-based organic light emitting diode).
Among them, LTPS technology can meet the highest resolution of about 1700 PPI (pixel density), while LTPO technology can meet the highest resolution of about 2100 PPI.
CTOnews.com learned that BOE said that customer demand specifications will continue to improve in the future, and it is expected that 1500+PPI products will become the mainstream of the market in the future, and LTPO technology will also become the development trend of glass-based VR drive technology.
In terms of cost, BOE says LTPO technology has an absolute advantage over MircoOLED. Considering the technology and cost, LTPO / LTPS technology can meet the demand of mainstream consumer VR equipment in the next 5-10 years, and is easily accepted by a wide range of ordinary consumers.
