CTOnews.com Nothing Phone (1) phones today began pushing the Nothing OS 1.1.7 update, which adds support for showing battery percentage for connected Apple AirPods wireless headphones, as well as other improvements and bug fixes.

Nothing Phone (1) users can check for OTA updates by going to Settings-> System-> System Updates. Keep in mind that since support for displaying AirPods battery charge is still experimental, it may not work in all cases.

That is, the feature can be enabled on newer Nothing Phone (1) models by going to the Experimental Features section in the Device Settings menu.

CTOnews.com has learned that according to the release notes, the update also includes Android security patches for November 2022 and provides more accurate battery status, improves OS fluency and reduces stuttering, improves audio quality when recording videos, and adjusts thermal thresholds to better balance performance and temperature.

Previously, Nothing CEO Carl Pei said he would focus on enabling Nothing devices to work with a variety of different products and accessories. In July, Carl Pei said,"We are building support for third-party products and believe that our users may need to pair these products, such as AirPods Pro or Tesla."
