According to CTOnews.com on November 26, Tesla can now detect whether Autopilot cheating devices are used in autopilot. After the owner opened the Autopilot or Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta, Tesla asked the owner to put his hand on the steering wheel.

It's just that Tesla's existing models are not equipped with special sensors to detect whether the owner really puts his hand on the steering wheel. Tesla's existing models can only detect whether the steering wheel is rotating, so Tesla requires car owners to often adjust the steering wheel after turning on the Autopilot mode.

This loophole has also spawned a variety of cheating tools. Car owners can deceive Autopilot's driver monitoring system by stuffing the steering wheel with a water bottle or buying some custom equipment to exert some pressure. NHTSA even had to intervene to ban the sale of such devices.

CTOnews.com learned that Tesla is now trying to solve this problem directly through software updates. Teslascope found the code in the latest version of FSD and will forcibly shut down Autopilot if a cheating device is detected.

As the technology is still in the testing stage, it is undoubtedly dangerous if drivers do not pay attention. Tesla is trying to find ways to ensure that drivers really put their hands on the steering wheel and are ready to control.
