New Linux file system, Red Hat is developing "Composefs"
CTOnews.com November 29, Red Hat (Red Hat) announced this morning the latest development of "Composefs", an opportunity to share (opportunistically-sharing) and verifiable image (verified image) file system.
CTOnews.com learned that the "Composefs" being developed by Red Hat is a way to build and use read-only images (read-only images) that will be applied to shared Podman container layers and OSTree-enabled authentication.
Red Hat engineer Alexander Larson (Alexander Larsson) announced the Composefs file system in the kernel mailing list and listed the advantages of the format. On the kernel side, the Composefs file format mainly relies on six RFC patches.
The Red Hat team is currently announcing the progress of containers / composefs on GitHub and has provided some proposed initial patches for OSTree for review.
