CTOnews.com learned that the default power consumption of the RTX 4090 officially given by Nvidia is 450W, but this power consumption will not be achieved in actual operation. After the measurement of foreign science and technology media TechPowerUp, it is found that the actual power consumption of RTX 4090 is about 340W when running games.

South Korean media Quasar Zone reduced the power consumption of the RTX 4090 by limiting power consumption and lowering the core voltage. After reducing the power consumption to 270W (to 60 per cent), under its most active power management (270W PL), the average loss in the performance of the five AAA games tested was only 8 per cent. The situation is similar to reducing the voltage of the GPU from 1V to 850mV. In both cases, the performance loss seems to be well controlled and the power consumption is reduced.
