CTOnews.com, December 5 (Xinhua)-- Hyundai ranked first in the global hydrogen fuel cell vehicle market share in the first 10 months of this year, according to data released by Yonhap News Agency and energy market research agency SNE Research on December 5.
Specifically, from January to October this year, the total sales of hydrogen-powered models around the world was 16195, an increase of 1316 (8.8 per cent) compared with the same period last year. Among them, Hyundai hydrogen-powered SUV model "NEXO" sold 9591, with a market share of 59.2%, far surpassing Toyota's "MIRAI" in second place (2897, 17.9%). This was followed by Honda "CLARITY" and SAIC Chase "EUNIQ 7".
It is worth mentioning that Hyundai Motor has won the New Energy vehicle (NEV) license issued by Beijing Transportation Department with the Chinese version of NEXO, which can perform excellent battery performance in low temperature environment. Hyundai Motor will consider launching the Chinese version of hydrogen heavy truck "XCIENT" in the light of the response of NEXO in the Chinese market.
