To make the call quality clearer, the Pixel 7 series gets the last Feature Drop in 2022

CTOnews.com, December 6 (Xinhua)-- Google today launched its last Feature Drop of the year for Pixel devices. This update applies to Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

CTOnews.com learned that Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have three features in this update. One is to lower the threshold to access the virtual private network, no longer need to subscribe to 2TB and higher packages, Google One subscribers can use it for free. Google said Workspace and some regulated accounts, including children's accounts, were not eligible and that equipment in India and Singapore were not covered by the upgrade.

The other is the update of Recorder application. After redesign and adjustment, the Speaker tag in the Recorder application supports the detection and marking of multiple speakers. The app previously transcribed all voice into a text block (because it was originally for speeches / lectures), but Google now detects everyone and adds newline characters when the speaker changes. Everyone will be assigned a number, color, and shape to get a more interpretable Recorder experience. Pixel 6, 6 Pro, and 6a also support this feature.

The third new feature is the Clear Calling function. This can filter out background noise and enhance voice, so that clear calls can be heard even in a noisy environment. Access Settings > Sound and Vibration > clear calls to enable / disable. This feature does not apply to VOIP calls, which Google says is based on Tensor G2 chips.
