With Jingchen S905X4 processor, Google is developing ADT-4 boxes for Android TV
CTOnews.com news on December 7, citing foreign technology media 9to5Google reported that Google confirmed that it is developing ADT-4 boxes for Android TV. The ADT-3 was launched in 2019 and has been confirmed to be out of production, and it is currently the only box that can run Android TV 13.
According to the report, Google is preparing an ADT-4 device for Android TV, which uses a set-top box design rather than a TV stick. In the documents released, Google called the streaming box "ADT-4", a "hybrid Google developer kit" with TV tuner hardware that supports standards such as ATSC 3.0 and DVB-S2.
The ADT-4 device is equipped with an Amlogic S905X4 processor, which is much stronger than the S905Y2 in ADT-3. The device seems to be based on the developer box currently sold by DroidLogic.tv.
CTOnews.com, the box sold by DroidLogic.tv above, learns that ADT-4 is not mentioned in the list so far, but the hardware looks the same as the document we looked at. If so, it will point to ADT-4, including 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and more input / output than any other Android TV developer device.
This includes TV tuner hardware, HDMI outputs, multiple USB ports (including USB-C, 3.5mm audio, and fiber optic audio outputs), as well as microSD card slots and internal microphones, as well as speakers for Google Assistant.
