Ningde era: 123GWh pure electric vehicle power batteries will be supplied to Honda by 2030

("Ningde Times") and Honda Technology Research Industry (China) Investment Co., Ltd. ("Honda") announced today that Honda will purchase 123GWh pure electric vehicle power batteries from Ningde Times in China between 2024 and 2030.

CTOnews.com learned that Ningde Times said that in 2020, Honda and Ningde Times signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement on power batteries for new energy vehicles, covering a wide range of areas such as joint development, stable supply, recycling and reuse of power batteries.

According to reports, with the continuous expansion of the products and sales scale of pure electric vehicles under the EVR N brand, the two sides further strengthen the cooperative relationship. Honda will purchase 123GWh pure electric vehicle power batteries from Ningde era from 2024 to 2030 in China, and these power batteries will be centrally produced in the Yichun factory of Ningde era.

According to SNE Research data, the number of batteries installed in electric vehicles worldwide reached 48 GWh in October 2022, an increase of 73.6% over the same period last year and a steady growth for 28 consecutive months. Among them, the installed capacity of Ningde era reached 18.1GWh, with a market share of 37.6%, ranking first in the world.
