CTOnews.com, December 11 (Xinhua)-- Elon Musk, CEO of social media company Twitter, confirmed today that Twitter will eventually raise the character limit to 4000 from the current 280.

In response to a question about whether the rumor that Twitter will raise the text limit to 4000 characters is true, Musk affirmed the claim, but did not provide more information. Twitter initially limited the number of characters to 140 and increased to 280 in 2017.

At present, the details of the increase in the number of characters are not clear. CTOnews.com learned that Musk's speech slides released in November showed that Twitter 2.0 would include features such as long tweets, video, payment, encrypted private messages, blue label authentication optimization and advertising as a service.
