CTOnews.com news on December 12, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily, MediaTek received NT $36.12 billion (about 8.235 billion yuan) in November, an increase of 8.2% from the previous month and a decrease of 19.7% from the same period last year, in line with market expectations.

The corporate body said that the delivery of customers' new mobile phones and shipments of the flagship mobile phone chip Tianji 9200 have led to revenue growth compared with the previous month. Looking to the future, after customers have made drastic inventory adjustments, short-term operating performance is expected to remain stable, but mobile phone manufacturers in Chinese mainland region are still destocking. High inflation rates in Europe and the United States may depress demand for electronic products. Although the worst is over, there is no sharp rebound in demand.

Taiwan media pointed out that MediaTek expects revenue to drop by about 20% in the fourth quarter compared with the previous quarter. Due to weaker terminal demand, increased price pressure on some products, and no price reduction in wafer foundry prices for the time being, gross profit margin will be slightly lower than that in the third quarter. It is estimated that net profit after tax for the whole quarter will be reduced by about 40%.

CTOnews.com learned that looking ahead to 2022, MediaTek's full-year after-tax net profit is expected to be 116 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 26.448 billion yuan), an increase of 4 percent year-on-year.
