CTOnews.com December 13 news, IDC released a report today that the overall revenue of China's IT security hardware market was about $930 million (about 6.491 billion yuan) in the third quarter of 2022, down 5.3% from the same period last year.

China's IT security hardware market reached $2.15 billion (about 15.007 billion yuan) by the end of the third quarter of 2022, down 3.5 percent from a year earlier, the report said.

Overall, the market performance of all network security hardware products has declined to some extent compared with the same period last year, IDC said. Among them, the security content management market has been affected by the trend of insufficient budget and slowing market demand in major industries, with a decline of 8.9% compared with the same period last year.

In addition, the virtual private network market showed negative growth for the first time since the epidemic, with the scale down 4.6% from the same period last year. From the perspective of the industry, the government, finance, operators and other key industries began to show a warming trend, public utilities, energy, manufacturing and other key industries continue to maintain a high level of investment.

CTOnews.com learned that IDC had expected that the investment in China's IT security market would reach US $31.9 billion (about RMB 230.318 billion) by 2026, of which the market share of security software would exceed that of security hardware, and the share of software would reach 41 per cent in 2026.
