CTOnews.com, December 15, according to the official account of China Railway, the high-speed railway from Maitreya to Mengzi (referred to as "Mimeng high-speed railway") will be put into operation on December 16.

The Mimeng high-speed railway is located in Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It runs from Nanning to Kunming High-speed Railway Maitreya Station in the north, through Maitreya City, Kaiyuan City and Mengzi City in Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, and reaches Honghe Station in Mengzi City in the south. It is 106 kilometers long and has a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour.

CTOnews.com learned that the Mimeng high-speed railway has five stations: Maitreya, Zhuyuan, Pengpu, Kaiyuanan and Honghe, of which Maitreya is an existing station and the other is a new station.

The Mimeng high-speed railway, which connects Nanning to Kunming in the north and Kunming to Hekou in the south, is an important part of the railway corridor from southwest China to ASEAN countries, according to the railway department.

According to reports, at the initial stage of the opening of the Mimeng high-speed railway, the railway department will arrange for the operation of mobile vehicles, which can be reached from Kunming South Station to Honghe Station at 69 minutes at the earliest, and Maitreya, Kaiyuan and Mengzi can be reached in half an hour in Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province. The railway department will dynamically adjust the train operation plan according to the changes in passenger flow.
