According to reports, CAS-10 is an 8U cube satellite, heavy about 12kg. Equipped with VHF uplink and UHF downlink linear transponder, the bandwidth is 30kHz. The transponder will operate throughout the life cycle of the satellite and can be used by radio amateurs around the world for duplex radio relay communications.

CAS-10 also carries a camera, and the photos taken are stored in flash memory on the satellite. Based on the DTMF remote control system, radio amateurs around the world can send DTMF commands to download camera photos.

CTOnews.com learned that the Mengtian experimental module is specially equipped with a micro-aircraft on-orbit release mechanism, which can meet the on-orbit release needs of 100-kilogram micro-vehicles or multiple cubic stars, and solve the problem of low-cost entry of microsatellites and cubic stars into space.
