CTOnews.com, December 19 (Xinhua) according to a recent survey distributed by Microsoft to players, Microsoft seems to be considering a cheaper, advertising version of its Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass members can play new games every month without having to pay any extra fees in addition to the subscription fee. Microsoft offers a variety of games, from 3A masterpieces to independent games, some of which were launched on Xbox Game Pass on the first day.

Currently, there are two versions of Xbox Game Pass, one is the standard version, which costs $10 a month, and the other is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which costs $15 a month. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes Xbox Live Gold for online multiplayer games, special benefits, and EA Play subscriptions.

The Microsoft survey invites users to comment on the current Xbox Game Pass and asks if they are willing to accept advertising if the subscription fee is low.

A screenshot of an unsourced source shows that the home version is 22 euros per month and the personal version is 3 euros per month. Although the cost is low, the first-party game will not be launched and may be added in six months' time. There will also be ads that appear before playing games in the XGP library.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft recently applied for a patent for personalized advertising that allows ads in the game to be presented to players in a more "friendly" way. I wonder if it has anything to do with it.
