Zuckerberg responded to antitrust allegations: Meta focuses on communication App, without the VR fitness app will not keep me awake at night
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly said during a trial in San Jose, California, that the company's main goal was to develop communication apps and developer platforms. Meta's acquisition of VR app developer Within Limited raises questions, and Zuckerberg's participation in the trial is to defend the acquisition. Zuckerberg said that "no VR fitness App will not keep me awake at night."
In 2015, Zuckerberg said in an email that Meta would develop most apps and software services for the VR industry. FTC officials questioned Zuckerberg about the email.
In July, the FTC sued Meta, asking it to stop buying Within. The FTC believes Meta has been trying to conquer the VR industry since its acquisition of Oculus in 2014, accusing Meta of trying to monopolize the meta-universe market by acquisition.
Meta's monopoly behavior has attracted the attention of many countries and regions. The EU warned Meta that Meta violated EU antitrust laws, distorted the online classified advertising market and abused its dominant position.
