CTOnews.com, December 22 (Xinhua)-- Google unveiled its Health Connect (healthy connection) system co-developed with Samsung at Google's I / O conference in 2022. This is an Android API and platform that collects health and fitness data from applications or devices, stores it securely, and allows users to share data with other applications or devices. Currently, Health Connect is available as an app on Android smartphones and Wear OS smartwatches. However, Google may integrate Health Connect into Android 14.

CTOnews.com learned that Google recently released Android 13 QPR2 Beta 1 for Pixel smartphones. Interestingly, the beta firmware is pre-installed with the Health Connect application. However, Health Connect may not be limited to Pixel devices in the future. According to Mishaal Rahman, senior technical editor of Esper, the code changes submitted to AOSP Gerrit indicate that Health Connect will become an Android 14 system-level service. In other words, Google may make Health Connect the default app for Android 14.

If Health Connect becomes part of the operating system, more and more application developers will integrate the service into their applications. The more apps that integrate Health Connect, the easier it will be for people to share their health and fitness data in different apps. It also means that users can easily switch between different brands of smartwatches without having to worry about losing health and fitness data.

Currently, more than 10 applications integrate Health Connect, including Google Fit, Samsung Health, Fitbit, MyFitnessPal, HealthilyMe, Oura, Flo, Lifesum, Outdooractive and Proov. If users are using any of these services, you can use Health Connect to easily share health and fitness data between these applications.
