Upgrade to release Ubuntu Touch Beta / RC based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS,UBports team
CTOnews.com, December 27, the UBports team has given this year's "Christmas present": a Ubuntu Touch Beta / RC version based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. Due to the size of the development team and limited resources, UBports's Ubuntu Touch has been based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS for a long time, and finally began to upgrade to the new version after a long period of development work.
The UBports team released a new Beta / RC channel on Christmas Eve, and users can choose to join in the UBports Installer app.
CTOnews.com has learned that Ubuntu 20.04 LTS is currently supported, but other platforms have begun to migrate to the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS release, so Ubuntu Touch has a relatively significant lag. Information about the devices currently supported by Ubuntu Touch and deployment details can be found at devices.ubuntu-touch.io.
CTOnews.com learned that Ubuntu Touch is a mobile device operating system developed by Canonical and the Ubuntu community, designed for touch-screen mobile devices such as mobile phones and tablets.
