It is reported that LG Electronics has begun to develop transparent OLED TVs in the second half of this year, which will be launched as soon as 2024.
December 28, according to foreign media reports, after LG showed the idea of launching transparent OLED televisions at the beginning of the year, LG Electronics, a consumer electronics manufacturer owned by LG, may also have started relevant research and development in the second half of the year.
According to foreign media reports, LG showed that at the beginning of this year, it proposed to the TV business unit of LG Electronics to launch a 55-inch transparent OLED TV.
But sources said that while LG display proposed the idea of transparent OLED TVs to LG Electronics, LG Electronics's transparent OLED TVs will not be launched in 2023, given the growing concerns about the global economic downturn and declining demand for TVs and other consumer electronics.
In the report, foreign media also mentioned that in order to launch in 2023, LG Electronics started the research and development of transparent OLED TV at some point in the second half of this year, but it has not made much progress so far.
However, according to foreign media reports, even if LG Electronics launches transparent OLED TVs in 2024, they will not be the first to launch in this field. Xiaomi has already launched a 55-inch transparent OLED TV in 2020, using LG display panels.
