According to officials, the Tianma R & D team integrates an optical system and a flexible TFT optical fingerprint sensor on the OLED panel through technological innovation to achieve perfect integration with the screen without the need for additional optical imaging components to achieve an ultra-thin module thickness increment lower than that of the 0.15mm.

According to officials, using the OLED panel integrated fingerprint imaging system, that is, adding a shading keyhole array to the TFT film of the panel to achieve high-precision imaging of the fingerprint area at the top of the screen, it can be perfectly adapted to new OLED application technologies such as TPOT, CFOT, HTD, and provide a new generation of fingerprint unlocking solution for ultra-thin flagship machines.

CTOnews.com learned that the flexible TFT optical fingerprint sensor independently developed by Tianma is as thin as 0.1mm, which greatly reduces the thickness of the traditional silicon-based optical sensor by 80%. It also has ultra-high resolution above 1000PPI, accurate output of ultra-clear fingerprint images, and exposure time as low as 0.125s. Officials say that with the whole machine recognition algorithm, zero-pause unlocking experience can be achieved.

Tianma optical fingerprint recognition technology can effectively increase the area of flexible TFT sensors through advanced processes, which in turn enables full-screen fingerprint recognition, which can be unlocked by touching any area of the screen, officials said. Compared with traditional silicon-based and glass-based sensors, Tianma flexible TFT sensor performs better in terms of size, thickness and mechanical reliability, and can support full-screen fingerprint recognition, which is in a leading position in the industry. In addition, full-screen unlocking does not need to fix the unlocked position, which will improve the residual shadow problem caused by the traditional optical fingerprint recognition technology which needs to light the fixed identification area of OLED screen frequently, and prolong the life of OLED screen.
