The fifth-generation "intelligent electric hybrid dual engine" system of Guangzhou Automobile Toyota will be equipped with a newly developed lithium battery system, which will reduce its size by 34% and its weight by 44%. At the same time, it will use miniaturized, high-speed motors to reduce loss and increase power output at the same time. The energy loss of high-speed motors is reduced by 19%, and the output power is increased by 32%.

In terms of the electronic control system, the PCU power control unit greatly increased the power density, achieved 17% lightweight, reduced energy loss by 10%, and increased current output by more than 8% (120A → 130A).

In 2023, Guangzhou Auto Toyota will release and upgrade 12 dual-engine products to realize the intelligent electric hybrid of all TNGA models. The bZ pure electric brand will introduce a new model jointly developed by GAC GROUP, Toyota and Guangzhou Auto Toyota in the future. In addition, GAC Toyota plans to account for 60% of electric model sales in 2025 and 100% in 2035.
