▲: the successful ignition of Dongfang Electric Group marks another step towards commercial operation of the F-class 50 MW heavy gas turbine independently developed by Dongfang Electric Group, and China is about to start a new chapter in the high-quality development of independent gas turbines.

As the core equipment in the field of power generation and drive, heavy gas turbines reflect the overall capacity of a country's heavy industry. The G50 heavy gas turbine (50 MW) developed by Dongfang Electric Group entered the list of the first major technology and equipment projects in the energy field in 2021, according to an announcement issued by the National Energy Administration in May 2022.

CTOnews.com learned that compared with thermal power units of the same power, this F-class 50 MW heavy-duty gas turbine can reduce carbon emissions by more than 500000 tons a year, and the combined cycle generates more than 70, 000 kilowatt-hours per hour, which can meet the electricity needs of 7000 households in a day.
