Amazon CEO sent a full letter that it plans to cut more than 18000 jobs.

CTOnews.com, January 5 (Xinhua)-- Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced in a company-wide letter today that it plans to cut more than 18000 jobs, more than the 17000 previously revealed.

Andy Jassy said Amazon will communicate the layoff decision from January 18, which will greatly affect the company's e-commerce and human resources organizations.

Andy Jassy, who accounts for 6% of Amazon's roughly 300000 employees, said in a letter that annual planning has become more difficult because of economic uncertainty and massive hiring over the past few years.

CTOnews.com learned that Amazon has more than 1.5 million employees, including warehouse employees, making it the second largest company after Wal-Mart. However, its share price has halved in the past year as soaring inflation requires companies and consumers to cut spending.
