In today's Power On newsletter, Gurman said the iPhone 15 series will offer the same four screen sizes as the iPhone 14 series, which means Apple will introduce the 6.1inch iPhone 15, 6.7inch iPhone 15 Plus, 6.1inch iPhone 15 Pro and 6.7inch iPhone 15 Pro Max. Following in Apple Watch Ultra's footsteps, Gurman previously suggested that iPhone 15 Pro Max might be named iPhone 15 Ultra.

CTOnews.com learned that Smart Island is a pill-like area at the top of the iPhone display, replacing the grooves on previous models. With the help of the software, the smart island can be transformed into different shapes and sizes to display real-time activity, system alerts and other information.

Display analyst Ross Young has previously claimed that Smart Island will be used on all four iPhone 15 models, a rumor now supported by Gurman.

Gurman said that as widely expected, all four iPhone 15 models will be equipped with a USB-C interface instead of a Lightning interface. USB-C is a more commonly used charging standard that provides faster data transfer speeds than Lightning.

Gurman also confirmed some rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro will have a titanium frame and tactile volume buttons. Two new tactile engines inside the device will simulate the feeling of buttons being pressed rather than physical movement, similar to iPhone SE's Home key and the newer MacBook trackpad.
