Apple simplifies podcast content distribution, and creators can publish subscriptions directly through platforms such as Blubrry / Rss.com

Apple says Apple Podcasts creators will be able to publish subscriptions directly on the hosting provider platform starting today. Apple says the new policy makes it easier for creators to launch and add programs and subscriptions on Apple Podcasts.

CTOnews.com Lecture: Apple launched the commissioned delivery (Delegated Delivery) feature in May 2022. People with an active Apple Podcast program membership can now generate API keys through the Apple Podcast connection platform. These API keys can be shared with hosting providers so that they can post podcasts on your behalf.

As Apple details, there are currently four different hosting providers that support Apple Podcasts subscriptions. They are:

Blubrry

Libsyn

Omny Studio

RSS.com

The company said Apple Podcasts subscriptions will be supported by more vendors, including Acast and ART19, later this year, and Apple has created a special page on its website showing which vendors support Podcasts subscriptions. Some creators were invited by the hosting service provider they were involved in last month to try the new feature.

Todd Cochrane, CEO of Blubrry Podcasting, said: "the automated program makes it extremely easy for podcasts to publish their high-quality shows and episodes to Apple Podcasts as part of their standard release program."

John W. Gibbons, president of Libsyn, added: "We look forward to simplifying the podcast release for more than 75000 Libsyn podcasts, building on our partnership with Apple."
