Glassdoor released the top 100 workplaces in 2023, and Apple fell out of the list for the first time in 15 years
CTOnews.com Glassdoor today released its 100 Best Places to Work report for 2023, and Apple fell off the list for the first time. Apple ranked 31st in 2021 and 56th in 2022, while Apple's poor performance this year fell directly out of the top 100 list. This is the first time Apple has fallen off the list in more than a decade.
CTOnews.com Small Classroom: Glassdoor is a website that allows users to participate in reviewing businesses. Current employees and former employees of any business can anonymously comment on employers on this website. Glassdoor also allows users to submit and view salaries anonymously, as well as search and apply for jobs on its platform.
Glassdoor confirmed the list by analyzing anonymous comments posted by employees on the platform. They considered "hundreds of thousands" of companies with 1,000 or more employees between October 19, 2021 and October 17, 2022.
Glassdoor is ranked on a 5-point overall scale: 1.0 means very dissatisfied and 5.0 means very satisfied. Glassdoor chief economist Daniel Zhao said Apple's absence from this year's list was "very surprising."
Zhao said Apple fell off the list for the first time in 15 years since the 100 Best Places to Work list was released. For Apple over the past year, the effort to get back into the office has caused some emotion among employees.
Apple has declined on the list since 2011, the year steve jobs died, when it ranked no. 20. The full list of the 100 best places to work in 2023 can be accessed here.
