The global smartphone user base will grow by 11% in SA:2023-2027

CTOnews.com January 12 news, research firm Strategy Analytics released a report today said that the global smartphone user base will grow by 11% from 2023 to 2027. Global smartphone penetration will continue to rise.

In the short term, the growth is driven by the epidemic's demand for home office/study, the report said. In the long run, growth will be driven by emerging markets such as Brazil and India, and driven by demand for upgrades from feature machine users. North America and Western Europe will retain penetration leadership, while Africa and the Middle East will have the highest growth potential.

CTOnews.com understands that Strategy Analytics had previously predicted that global smartphone shipments would decline by 10% year-on-year in 2022. The downward trajectory will continue until 2023, but the annual growth rate will improve to-5%. Global smartphone shipments will reach their lowest level since 2014.

In addition, Strategy Analytics expects the smartphone market to rebound from 2024. By 2025, the global smartphone market will return to pre-epidemic levels. By 2027, China, India and the US will remain the top three smartphone markets.
