CTOnews.com New evidence strongly suggests that a new Chromecast TV stick with Google TV is on the way.

In 2020, Google made major changes to the Chromecast product line, abandoning the long-standing Cast OS in favor of Android TV-or more specifically, the new version of "Google TV." This continued last year with the launch of Chromecast with Google TV (HD), bringing the experience to a more affordable price point.

Both devices are flawed, and Google strives to keep costs down with minimal specs. One of the biggest complaints against Chromecast with Google TV has to do with the device's quasi-system storage space, which makes it difficult to install and update multiple media apps. Chromecast with Google TV also boosts performance.

In the latest preview update for the Google Home app, the company includes early preparations for a new Google TV device, called "YTC." Elsewhere in the code, it directly confirms that it is a "Chromecast with Google TV"-as well as previous models "YTV" and "YTB"(Chromecast HD).

Given that Google has already released a lower-end model of Chromecast, it is expected to release a higher-spec product as planned to replace its current flagship.

Hopefully Google's next-generation Chromecast with Google TV will support more storage. The processor should also be upgraded, as Android TV recently changed its hardware requirements.

It is also hoped that Chromecast will include a second USB-C port for inserting accessories or extra storage space.
