Older models such as Porsche Boxster, Cayman and Cayenne can be equipped with PCCM Plus to support Apple CarPlay.

CTOnews.com, January 21 / PRNewswire-Asianet /-- Porsche recently upgraded the communication management system of older Boxster, Cayman and Cayenne models to support Apple CarPlay.

Porsche has officially announced that these older models can support Apple CarPlay by adding Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM Plus) touch screen devices to the 997 Porsche 911, the 987 Porsche Boxster and Cayman from 2005-2008 and the original Porsche Cayenne from 2003-2008.

PCCM Plus replaces the original dual DIN form of the vehicle and can be used with the existing dashboard navigation display of the original vehicle. Users can play multimedia by inserting a U disk or via Bluetooth, and store personal settings for the car.

CTOnews.com learned that owners of these models can order the new PCCM Plus through Porsche dealers at a price of $1475.99 (currently about 10007 yuan). Porsche recommends that the equipment be installed by its dealer or an approved Porsche Classic partner.
