CTOnews.com, January 22, according to Kyodo News, Japan will launch the "electronic prescription" system nationwide from the 26th.

According to Tu Yuan Pexels, the system digitizes paper prescriptions and allows doctors and pharmacists to communicate online. Since prescription records are kept uniformly on the server, it is expected to prevent multiple medical institutions from repeatedly taking drugs to patients or prescribing prescriptions that cannot be taken at the same time as other drugs.

If the patient agrees to use the electronic prescription, the doctor can register the prescription with the system. The patient presents his personal numbering card or health insurance card at the drugstore, and the pharmacist confirms the data and gives the medicine to the patient. In case of duplicate prescriptions, the system can also notify doctors and pharmacists.

Japan's Ministry of Health and Labor said that only facilities introduced into the system could be used. The province published a list of medical institutions and pharmacies that can use the system on its website, with a total of 178 facilities in 30 prefectures as of 15 days. About 30,000 facilities have been applied for introduction and are expected to be gradually expanded.
