Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 / Pro ECG and blood pressure monitoring newly launched in Malaysia

CTOnews.com, January 30-Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 and newer smartwatches have built-in ECG electrocardiograms, but the company has not activated this feature in most markets around the world. The same is true of its latest smartwatches, Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Samsung has now announced that it has activated the Galaxy Watch 5 series of ECG and blood pressure monitoring functions in the Malaysian market.

Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro users in Malaysia can now use the Samsung Health Monitor app on their smartphones to check their EKG and blood pressure. This can help users diagnose heart-related problems early, and then consult their doctor for possible care. When a smartwatch is paired with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, this feature applies only to the Galaxy Watch 5 series.

CTOnews.com learned that to measure blood pressure, Galaxy Watch 5 series users must set up the Samsung Health Monitor app on their Galaxy smartphones, make sure the watch clings to their wrists, calibrate the watch with a dedicated blood pressure measurement device, and then complete the operation.

It is easier to measure ECG. Simply pair the Galaxy Watch 5 series smartwatch with the Galaxy smartphone, open the Samsung Health Monitor app on the smartwatch, and place the finger of the other hand on the button at the top of the smartwatch for 30 seconds to begin measuring the ECG.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Series Bank of China has been able to activate the ECG function in some ways, but it has not yet been officially launched.
