CTOnews.com Intel's 14th generation processor Meteor Lake family is expected to launch in the second half of this year, including at least mobile platform CPUs (desktop platforms may only Raptor Lake Refresh), and will be the first to adopt chiplet technology and hybrid architecture design, while Lunar Lake for low-power platforms will be launched in 2024.

Based on Intel's previously shared materials, the new generation of Meteor Lake will adopt Intel 4 technology and external technology, and introduce a "Tile" design for the first time, integrating CPU, SOC, core display and IOE chips.

According to information shared by @OneRaichu, Intel Meteor Lake CPU adopts Redwood Cove and Crestmont architecture respectively, plus a new generation of EUV based Intel 4 (original 7nm) and TSMC 5nm (nuclear display), its performance and efficiency are expected to be greatly improved, at least the target of performance/power consumption ratio should reach 1.5 times that of 13-generation Raptor Lake.

In addition, since the new tGPU or Tiled-GPU architecture will include the new Xe GPU kernel, he believes that the core display of the 14th generation processor (128EU above 2.0 GHz) will likely achieve twice the performance level of the previous (96EU), and will also enhance support for DirectX 12 Ultimate and XeSS.

CTOnews.com believes that Intel's 14th generation Meteor Lake CPU will adopt a new P core and E core architecture, and the CPU itself will also integrate several other IP parts to form the entire chip. If you just look at the P and E core data, according to him, the new generation of Meteor Lake could make great strides in performance, and laptop life is expected to improve significantly.

Intel may cancel Meteor Lake desktop processor, only Raptor Lake Refresh
